Journal of Legal Education

About This Journal

The Journal of Legal Education, JLE, published since 1948, focuses on central issues facing legal education and the profession, including teaching methods and scholarship; directions, movements, and reform in legal education; and the connections among legal education, licensure, and legal practice. Its contents include individual articles, symposia, book reviews, and other commentary while offering readers and authors opportunities to engage with leading thought on legal education and the legal profession. To that end, each year the Journal publishes one, and often two, symposia or issues devoted to a single theme. The Journal is made available without cost to full-time faculty at member schools through the courtesy of Thompson Reuters and West Publishing, which print the publication.

The Journal is edited for a term of five years by faculty at a member school or schools. Currently, University of California, Irvine School of Law and New York Law School provide editorial leadership as well as administrative and financial support. AALS provides financial and mailing support.
